Grab your buckets, spades, and imagination — it’s time to build, sculpt, and create at the Coastie Kids Sandcastle Competition! One of the most loved events of the Coastie Kids Summer Festival, this is a day where kids and families can get hands-on with sand, water, and a whole lot of fun.
From towering castles to quirky creatures, funky sculptures, or completely wild creations — anything goes! With heaps of prize categories including creativity, teamwork, originality, and surprise spot prizes, every little builder has a chance to take home something special.
This is a family-friendly beach event designed for laughter, imagination, and community spirit. Whether you’ve got tiny tots with buckets or budding beach architects, there’s a spot for everyone to shine.

How the Coastie Kids Sandcastle Competition Works
Ready to get building? Joining the Coastie Kids Sandcastle Competition is easy. Grab your ticket, head to your favourite beach with buckets and spades, and start building your masterpiece. Snap a photo of your creation, tell us a bit about it, and submit online — that’s it!”

It’s easy! Register here, head out to your favourite beach with your buckets and spades, and start building. Registration is required to be eligible for prizes.

Kids and families of all ages are welcome! Whether your little ones are tiny tots with buckets or budding beach architects, there’s a place for everyone to get creative.
Can adults help?🤝
Yes - kids can receive age-appropriate help from supervising adults, but remember, this is a kids’ competition - fun, fair, and in the spirit of summer adventure!
How does it work? 🏖️
You can head out to the beach at any time during the Coastie Kids Summer Festival and start building. After you’ve finished your sandcastles, snap a photo of your most impressive sand creation — don’t forget to decorate it!
Tell us a bit about your design when you submit your entry so the judges can get the full story. Every entry counts, and there are bonus points for extra creativity.
Do we need to bring our own equipment? 🪣
Yes! Bring buckets, spades, and any tools you like to get creative. Don’t forget sun protection, water, and your sense of fun!
